When Green came to Town...

Green is a seriously underestimated colour in my book. Then again my book is one of those colour by number books and filled with gazillions of bright colours, painted all outside the lines, while I suspect the books of many other people are all coloured within the lines in rather drab colours, but "that's just like my opinion man" *.

But back to Green...

I love green, it's among my favourite colours (along with red, black, pink, turquoise and yellow and purple and...you get the drift) and when I discovered this cute little shop (I'm sure it's been there for a bit but I only just stumbled across it) Oyakin I got nearly everything my Linden balance could handle.

In this ensemble I combined one of their jackets with a top (both of which are sold separately, see Stylesheet for specifics) and added some Zaara Jeans and Moody Bitch Booties for good measure. Also some of my constant companions these days, the facial tattoos from Tattanooga and jewellery from Mandala, had to join the party. Add some Cake Hair, stir well for a few minutes over a high flame and you come away with this super-cute look!

So here's the closeup of the eye-shadow tattoo
from Tattanooga, which I combined with one of my favourite Laqroki skins. Then the earrings from Mandala and the hair from Cake which I'm wearing with the hair-base version of the skin for a more natural look. I usually try to wear chokers, when I'm sporting a hair-base skin because when you cam out on yourself (or as others would see you) you can see the remnants of the dark hair on the throat, which I personally don't find too attractive and try to cover up. If anyone has a solution for that little problem please DO let me know beacause I love me some hair-base skins.

You can see the inside of the collar from the jacket in this picture which is done in a really cute granny-style material/texture. also the inside of the jacket is lined with the same thing, which I find a nice detail.

The location for the pictures is another of my favourite places in Second Life, not only for shopping but I like how they did the rain and it's just nifty to hang out there. Of course i'm talking about Creamshop. And don't worry, they also sell umbrellas -ellas -ellas there so you don't get too wet.

* The Dude aka Jeff Bridges in 'The Big Lebowski' (Link to YouTube Video, contains 1 swearword). In my opinion the best comeback, no matter what your counterpart said, EVER!

The totally amazeballs outfit...Oh and did I mention it was totally fabulous as well?

So here goes:

I am a HUGE fan of the Allure Sandals from Maitreya with the tights, I think I've been wearing them for 1 1/2 weeks now constantly (well in different colours obviously) but still, for someone like me who changes their outfit about 3 times a day, that is a loooooong time. I love how, even though it's not exactly the same colour, the tights match the pantsuit and give a nice contrast. Also the detailing of the belt that comes with the pantsuit is awsome (there is also another option for the chest-attachment that has big frilly shoulder, it's also very nifty but maybe more for evening wear or elegant clubbing than for just stylishly hangin' out).

Now for the devil in the detail:

These nails are really nifty because they come with a glove layer that is skin coloured and can be tinted to match your skin tone perfectly and it gets rid of the preset nails on your skin. The nails come for 3 hand sizes: 10, 20 and 30 and if your hands have one of these 3 sizes you don't need to adjust them at all, which for me was a huge relief since I'm used to having to adjust almost every single prim I'm buying. Obviously I'm freaky tall with 'humongoneous' boobies and no designer takes that into account, how inconsiderate of them really that they don't cater to every shape variation there is
in Second Life.

Anyways... There are only two things that have me convinced of the merits of the new 2.0 Viewer from Linden Labs and that's a) all the different layers you can have and b) all the different layers you can have. Let me specify: the alpha-layer for the feet that gets rid of those buggy invisi-prims for the shoes. Ever had the problem that you wanna wear Jeans or pants with prim attachments for the cuffs and at the same time wearing shoes with separate invisi-prims? Yeh, see there we go. Not a problem anymore fortunately, thanks to all the fashionistas that LL seems to be littered with. Also the new tattoo-layer that they have so cleverly come up with, gives you the opportunity to add new make-up variations to your skin, for example for the eyes like I have in the pictures above. So you like the lipstick on your skin but want a more dramatic eyeshadow to go with it...Tada!

I'm wearing the Paio Hairstyle from Mirai, only I set the hairband to 'beige' (which is more like a beige tinted with pink) and then modded the colour so that it matched the colour of the pantsuit. Yeh, I am THAT clever.

For whom that wasn't enough info, here is the complete Stylesheet with slurls:

Why the hell am I writing the umpteenth SL Fashion Blog, you ask...

Good question, here's an even better answer:

I've been on Second Life since almost 3 1/2 years...in all that time I've done nearly nothing useful, a little dabbling here and there, and mostly just did tons of shopping (much to the dismay of the HUBBY*) and played dress-up. Did a little bit of photography, a little bit of designing, little bit of building but mostly I worked on feeding that insatiable black hole that I call my inventory (when I feel more affectionate I just call it George).

It came to a point where I was afraid to open my inventory in fear of what might have come alive overnight and would jump at me the second I opened it (queue Halloween theme song and sound of a creaking door...). Fortunately I had good friends (here's looking at you Ash) who kept reminding me to clean it out every once in a while, and a HUBBY who said I wasn't allowed to go shopping anymore unless my inventory had less than X items (you never ask a girl how many items she has in her inventory, it's as delicate a topic as her weight). In that process I always discovered hidden treasures and long forgotten vintage outfits and I was amazingly happy to renew my aquaintance with them.

Then a few days ago, something happened to me that hasn't happened before...No, I didn't throw up in the surf only to have said surf rolling back over my naked feet, that is so 1996... No, I put together one of the most perfect ensembles in my SL history straight out of my inventory. I usually dress well, even if I say so myself, but this one was different, I just looked at my AV and thought "Yes this is it". All the accessories and hair and shoes just matched brilliantly. So I promptly made a notecard with pictures and references to the designers and sent it to each of them with a small 'Thank you for your amazing work' note. The feedback I got from said designers was so amazing and friendly (let alone flattering) that I decided to let everyone participate in my absolute fabulousness.

So, what can you expect in this Blog?

Obviously lots of fashion, humour, sarcasm, tongue-in-cheek, swearwords, saucy stories, ramblings, off-topic posts and most importantly, someone who doesn't take herself (or others for that matter) too seriously.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings as much as I do...

Yours truly

Ana

P.S.: That amazing outfit I talked about earlier? Yes, that perfect, amazing, super-duper, brilliant one? It will be blogged in my next post XD
